There are numerous trees lining the narrow fairways that can alter your shots. The fairways and greens are bordered by U.S. Open length rough. This club has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition, "GOLF Magazine" named it to its 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America.

The 9-hole "Shamrock" course at the Shamrock Public facility in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania features 2,686 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 35.  Designed by Dave Brahm, the Shamrock golf course opened in 1967. Bob McFeaters is the General Manager.
